News - County ORV Ordinance Info (Latest info on top) 3/11/21 - Added in some counties we've had in our maps but missed putting on this page including VanBuren, Shiawassee, St Joseph and Barry. 3/14/20 - Updated county list and current ordiances; added Genessee county. 4/1/16 - Updated Gladwin and Charlevoix counties; both revised their ordinances to open all county roads. Updated Crawford County; Updated Lake County; updated Village of Mancelona; updated city of Ludington. 4/15/15 - Added Ionia and HIllsdale counties; updated/added some towns/villages/cities that have also opened. 5/1/2014 - Updated all ordinances (added new, confirmed ordinance current-ness, etc.). 11/2/2012 - Added Newaygo; Montcalm; Gratiot; updated Gogebic. 5/22/2012 - Update Oscoda County map to reflect updated trails and USFS-claimed county roads. 7/12/2010 - Update Oscoda County map to reflect updated trails and USFS-claimed county roads. 6/22/10 - Updated Crawford county based on revised ordinance from March 2010 (they closed a few, opened a few, removed the fall/winter closure). 6/21/10 - Updated Emmet, Grand Traverse and Antrim counties. Huron and Sanilac counties (Thumb area) are working on ordinances. 8/28/09 - Grand Traverse County passed their ordinance, effect on 9/1/09. 8/14/09 - Emmet County passed their ordinance; effective in 60 days. 7/22/09 - City of Norway (Dickinson County) passed local ordinance for ORVs on most of their roads (our maps are not updated). See news article. 7/22/09 - Emmet County has two townships adopt a local ordinance. They are Cross Village and Readmond. We have a map ready, but are waiting for the county action in August as it's only a couple weeks a way. See News article. Emmet County has a draft ordinance and public hearing on Aug 13. |
